For many years they struggled with an out of date website that was difficult / impossible to maintain. We were asked to re-design the site and make it easier to use for website administrators who have limited time to dedicate to the project as volunteers.
The website is predominantly a source of information for newcomers to the area who do not speak Dutch. We organised valuable information into groups that are easy to view in single, easy to use reference page.
The website also features activity listings and search, an events calendar and business listings. We implemented forms for each of these features, so that when someone submits a suggestion for a business listing this is then automatically converted into a listing for the website. Of course approval is required before it’s published, but this automation allows for much faster and easier processing by the website administrators.
The old website was created with Drupal and we took care of migrating the hundreds of pages of content to WordPress, while maintaining the old page URLs so as not to lose any SEO value built up over the years.
