FAQ: How to Remove Random Numbers from end of Magento URLs?

by | Dec 2, 2013 | 0 comments

Have you ever noticed those annoying random numbers at the end of your Magento URLs? We’ll show you how to remove them.

Those random numbers are generated because multiple URLs exist which are the same, so Magento renames them to make them unique. This happens when you have a configurable product with several simple products as the product options. If each of the simple products are created with the same URL then each product will be assigned a unique URL with a random number at the end.

You can avoid this by making sure you create unique URLs for ALL of your products. This will make sure there is no random number at the end of your Magento URL.
